View this Videotribute Simon G. Coenen, 91, formerly of 6972 Hillcrest Ave., Rudolph, died Saturday afternoon, May 17, 2008, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Rudolph. Burial will be at All Soul’s Cemetery, Rudolph. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home and then again from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. Simon was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Rudolph, to Theodore and Anna (Wildenberg) Coenen. He married Margaret Stelzer Oct. 15, 1938, in Rudolph. She died Oct. 7, 1969. He then married Angeline (Cepress) Kowalski on Dec. 5, 1970, in Rudolph. Simon was employed by the CCC Camp during the Depression. He was a farmer until 1960 and then worked as a home builder and carpenter, in addition to carrying a master plumber license No. 110 for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Rudolph School Board from 1959 though 1962. He was active at St. Philip’s as picnic chairman and usher. He as also recording secretary for the Catholic Order of Foresters for 25 years. His hobbies include bowling and playing cards. Survivors include: Wife, Angeline; two sons, Roger (Delores) of Rudolph, Bruce (Linda) of Rudolph; one daughter, Patricia (Harland) Brock of Milladore; two stepdaughters, Patricia (John) Reeves of Rudolph and Mary (Eugene) Zuelke of Nekoosa. Grandchildren: James (Joanne) Coenen and their children Allison, Joseph and Jacob; Jill (Timothy) Schimke and children Lily, Ben and Daniel; Michael (Jennifer) Coenen and children Kelly, Karen and Katie; Dale Coenen; Cindy (Doug) Zellner and children Eric and Amanda; Jerry (Denice) Brock and children Shaun and Ashley; Kathy (Eugene) Zellner and children Justin and Jason; Dawn (Jeff) Cegielski and children Josh and Luke; Diane (Damian) Wosick and children Cassie Coenen, Lindsey and Lily; Cory Coenen; Casey Coenen; Crista (Michael) Zynda. Stepgrandchildren: Melisa Zuelke; Jodi (Russell) Black; Robert (Rosemary) Reeves; Jason Reeves and child Patrick; Julie (Jeff) Kroning and child Tyler; Jane Reeves. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Catherine and Loretta Coenen. He is preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Ben, Lambert and Damian, and sisters, Mary Stream and Dorothy Dillinger
