Clarence L. Pierce, 67, of 2420 Lake Ave., Wisconsin Rapids, died Sunday afternoon, March 16, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Higgins Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery.

Clarence was born May 22, 1940, in Neillsville, to Albert and Marie (Bender) Pierce. He married Geraldine Crabb on May 2, 1959, in Wisconsin Rapids.

He was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. for 42 years as a tow motor operator in the box shop. Clarence was a founder and member of the Model A Club. He loved his woodworking, playing with his tractor, and listening to his polka music, especially the Danny Raflick Band. He also had a pet cat named "Princes."

Survivors include his wife, Gerry; his children, Geraldine "Bugzy" Schunke of Stevens Point, Lawrence Pierce of Milwaukee, Randal Pierce of Pittsville, Jeffrey Pierce of Madison, and Thomas (Stephanie) Pierce, Michael (Holly) Pierce, Pamela (Scott) Dieringer, and Dennis Pierce, all of Wisconsin Rapids; 14 grandchildren, Frederick, Kenderick, Karl "Duke," and Christine Schunke; Meghan and Darrin Pierce; Kayla and Connor Pierce; Matthew and Trevor Pierce; Nichole "Niki" and Shawn Pierce; and Raymond and Michael Dieringer; two great-grandchildren, Keegan Pierce, and Emma Schunke; two brothers, Harvey (Naomi) and Roger (Paula) Pierce; three sisters, Ona Joling, Linda Ennett, and Norma Zurfluh; plus nieces and nephews.

Clarence was predeceased by his parents; a sister; and a brother.
